Keith Knight has been a resident of the greater Barrie area for the last 24 years. He attended Innisdale Secondary school where he completed a six month co-op program with Cedar Point Physiotherapy. For the five years that Keith attended Innisdale he played for the football and rugby teams. After secondary school Keith spent 7 years working in various areas of Barrie's construction and communication industries. During that time he had sustained injuries, (acute and repetitive strain injuries), which required him to work with various health care professionals to achieve rehabilitation.
In October of 2000, at the age of 26, he began his schooling for massage therapy at Career Canada College, Barrie campus. He graduated in August of 2002 with Honours and received an Award of Excellence for maintaining an average greater than 90% during 2200 hours of study.
Keith has completed further training in Myofascial Release, Reiki I, therapeutic ultrasound, interferential current therapy and TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation), and has a strong interest in clinical, pregnancy, athletic and relaxation therapies.
He has been in practice since November of 2002 and in that time has gained practical experience in the treatment and management of a wide range of musculoskeletal, stress and pain related conditions. He has worked with and helped a wide variety of clients with a various conditions. He has had experience with athletes (hockey, lacrosse, football, soccer, tennis, triathletes, runners, skiers, swimmers, volleyball, basketball, weight lifters and dancers), pre and post natal women, factory and office workers, construction workers, landscapers and heavy machine operators, emergency services and military (paramedic, police, firefighters), the elderly, stroke rehab and infant massage.
In the years of 2007 and 2008 Keith was pleased to be able to join Kinetic Excellence at the Pro Performance athletic training camp in Sweden, where for a month each year he directed and performed the therapies for the athletes participating in the camp. These athletes ranged in age from 15-22 years of age and were training intensely and competitively for hockey, football, soccer and downhill skiing.
Keith is passionate about his career as a Massage Therapist and looks forward to discovering all that it has to offer to the public in the times to come.
